The foundation builds and maintains a pool of funds from many donors to provide a perpetual source of income to meet the charitable needs of our community
The Foundation provides a wide variety of opportunities for donors to achieve their charitable goals.
As a community leader, the Foundation identifies and addresses how the emerging needs of the growing Stewartville area can be met through gifts.
Unrestricted Funds |
Donors of unrestricted funds give the Foundation the flexibility to use their charitable gifts at the discretion of the Foundation. These donors recognize that ten or twenty years from now the needs of the Stewartville area may be dramatically different than they are today. They have confidence that the Foundation will use the unrestricted funds to meet those currently unforeseen needs in the community.
Field of Interest Funds |
Donors use Field of Interest Funds to support specific areas of interest such as culture, health care, human services, civic improvements, youth and the arts. These donors may work with the Foundation in identifying where and how they wish their gifts to be used.
Designated Funds |
Donors may specify certain existing charities as recipients of their gifts, thereby providing those organizations with a one-time gift or with a perpetual stream of income.
Agency Funds |
Agency funds are established to protect the capital for the future of an organization and to provide the rewards of investment management. These funds provide for present and future funding needs and may be added to by donors who support the mission of the receiving organization.
Special Project Funds |
These funds are held in trust by the Community Foundation for special projects. Using the Foundation as a fiscal agent allows non-profit organizations to pursue their charitable goals without having to set up a financial infrastructure. It also allows project supporters to receive the maximum tax benefits as allow by U.S. tax code.
